Like I said I just got back from Vegas, after spending 3 days at a gigantic convention, and I had many meetings in exhibitors' booths, some of which are set up as offices, with private meeting rooms, catering, and they either have their own people as receptionists who know what they are talking about, or they hire Vegas type locals who look good and just handle scheduling.
Offsite might work too, but if you aren't staying at Westgate (assuming you are conventioning at the LVCC) then you are taking a cab or the aerial tram.
Since IOT Expo is at Caesars, then retreating to a separate meeting room would also work, but would also come at expense. You are saying that a Suite/hotel room works - that is ok with me. Still like to see a booth, maybe we don't have the manpower to do both.
I look through the program, and fill in open time with booth visits, I get to know people, conversation comes easier, access comes easier, easier to do business when they have confidence you are there now, you were there last year, and the year before.
