You can earn activity points by filling your profile with information about yourself (what city you live in, your favorite team, blogs etc.)
Handel, they could very well be pushing this data to the cloud for historical analysis and storage and acting on it and pushing mit back to the fog-node, in many ways you/we havn't discovered yet.
And imo they most certainly will be in the future.
