Handel, the nodes could very well be pushing this data up to the cloud for historical analysis and storage, then the fog could be pulling it down, as needed, and acting on it; they most likely are already interfacing it in many ways you/we havn't discovered yet.

And imo they most certainly will be in the future.

We need take a closed look at thos embedded servers and emegrhing sensory hubs associated with them.
