Sorry mate but this is almost comical

"The NDP is supported, with strength, by the Unions who are in need of high paying jobs to preserve their own future. unless they are stupid enough to repeat the mistakes of the last time they held power, doubtful, they will support mining and the jobs it will bring.

Forestry has taken a huge hit in recent years, paper and pulp mills have been closed or downsized since the last time they held were in charge and mining is the only resource industry that still holds the prospect for job growth. I forgot to mention fishing and canning which are pretty much a thing of the past."

All is fine until you state why the forest jobs are gone and why mining left. These are the hangover effects that resulted from this period in history. There's still a myriad of red tape that hasn't been un done.

As an example of what went on: Small wood operators were told that to meet the requirements set up by policies of the day they had to modernize their truck fleets. Once those guys were heavily in debt the price was reduced even more (stumpage fees etc) and the majority went bankrupt. This was a Union tactic designed to drive out independants. The big companies didn't have a choice but they did benefit too. Those who didn't cooperate found themselves with supply shortages and ended up selling off to China. See recent fiber shortages (last couple of year) that are leveled at specific companies. No the USA anti dumping figured into this too. This is why BC has 9 billion cubic meters of wood rotting from the pine beetle that could have been harvested. But the NDP were busy preparing for the future and making that impossible.

So here we are today being told we have to cut prime protected areas. All this despite 2 governments and 9 BILLION cubic meters wasted! Yes folks 9 BILLION. Oh, and for those who say they didn't see this coming I laugh, your an idiot. They brought the pine beetle back here in 1945! They've know ever since that this was coming and did nothing when it would have been easy to deal with. Explain that one.
