Dwek refers to Joe Dwek who is Mineralfields. They are an investment company that uses different vehicles like limited partnerships to invest in jr. explorer's and such.

They are similar to Pinetree and Sheldon Iwenatsh.

The flo thru shares do have a different cost base to the company because the tax deductible portion belongs to the shareholder. You can't write the same expense off twice.....once in the company and again with the shareholder. In this case the company has no taxable income so they flow the expenses to the shareholder who takes the write off. Simplistically explained as it is much more complicated....but you get the drift.
