If you use Etrade as your broker... they dont have to route the order to their own "mm" they are suppose to route to an MM with the lowest ask.. or the highest bid avaliable.

I also agree that most MM dont hold inventory...unnecessary risk for them.. their business is making on the spread... and your broker is on the order cost.

I do all my orders on limit with AON... i cant stand partials...
