I agree 100%. What does someone hope to accomplish by announcing their candidacy or should I say "potential" candidacy? I wouldn't say a word until all the required paperwork had been completed and filed with the proper authority. You certainly don't need to gauge the support of an internet forum. Not when you've been an active member for years. That in of itself should already give you some idea on how you may be received.

Take the necessary steps and then we can all engage in meaningful discussion. Otherwise, how can anyone take it seriously?
