Your arguments don't hold water.
You say that one should not announce their candidacy until they've taken all the requisite actions.
To that I suggest the exact same attitude should be taken if one were to announce their candidacy before knowing, per a reply from PTSC, whether they were a candidate at all. After all, this too is a prerequisite.
I heard no such complaints when Stan announced.
Also, regarding commitment - filing paper constitutes commitment? One could file paper, be accepted, and still back out if they chose.
I suggest that if anyone has put themselves out there, knowingly subjecting themselves to inevitable abuse, and who takes the time to reply to posts such as yours as well as posts of actual interest, that person has made some significant level of commitment.
