You are all correct with regards to the Canadian economy, in particular the automotive industry which feed many different business in Canada. As one poster said earlier Windsor is like a gost town because of it.

I am very close to the automotive business and my familly owns/owned a couple of tool & mould plants in South Western Ontario and I am a tool and mould maker by trade.

I think the worse is over (in manufacturing, in SW Ontario) cause I think anyone who was going out of business has already gone, including one of our plants in Windor. We also have many new jobs in the pipeline that have yet to be released but keep in mind that the auto industry is always 2 to 3 years ahead of the game when it comes to new models of vehicle and needs to be tooled years before they hit the market.

Secondly, though much of the manufacturing has left Ontario and gone to Asia a good portion will come back as they have had many many problems over there an cannot get any service after the fact cause they are so far away.

I know this is only one part of the maufacturing in SW Ontario but it is a large part and is very good for the enconomy.

Long and Strong.
