IMHO the US is ingenious as averting a full blown recession. As was mentioned by Goldoil re the bubbles or affected areas, that is my view as well.

IMHO the problem began with the advent of "nothing down". Thee shysters started the ball rolling.

If the democrats get in and raise taxes, they are in trouble. Because as we know they tax, spend, believe in big government. Bush does not control his spending hence the beginning of his problems.
