Yes...you are of course correct.  All I am saying is that the most likely outcome is that Lipitor and Crestor sub groups have the same response function.  Beyond that, your various permutations and combinations are all theoretically possible.  Naturally, my bias is for your #3 outcome to be the path of least resistance.
