Yes, Tony, I would have to agree with you that Magma Energy is not welcomed in Iceland (at the moment). And MXY is not for everyone to invest in. But I'd like to note that Magma is diversified, as well, and does not have all its eggs one basket. If you want quick turn arounds, then don't invest in Magma. But if you're looking at future potential, say 5, 10, 15 years (say a retirement fund), MXY is a great bet. Also, Magma has excellent management. Ross Beaty is the exempler of a great corporate manager: honest, ethical, ecologically-minded (rare in the corporate world) and strong shared vision (Senge, 1990). To exemplify his commitment to community, science, and the environment, note the following:

Not to say that Ross is not a prudent business man, too (check out his track record). I couldn't understand why Mr. Beaty was not putting up his dukes with Eva Joly, at first, but now I understand. He's a man of actions, and does not have time to waste with frivolous, foundless accusations. Ms. Joly, on the other hand, is a political cult leader. Nothing to do with far left or far right. These Max-Weberian charismatic leaders can come from either side of the political fence. They create their cults out of drumming up a common cause to be fighting for, which usually includes a common enemy to be fighting against. They often rope in very intelligent, yet somewhat naive people to do their fighting for them (as Ms. Joly has exceptionally done). Watch and listen to her video clips and you'll notice the same tautological arguments as used in the Ants and Grasshoppers animation (forgot the title) by Disney. Cult leaders almost always come in to fill a void. Obviously, in wake of the bank lending crisis, Iceland had a huge void and its citizens were filled with mistrust of anything regarded as part of the establishment. Prime fertile ground to build a cult upon. But these cults eventually fade away along with their charismatic leader. No shared or real vision. Just dillusionment!

Anyway, my diatribe ends here. But I'd heed people to people to do their DD and judge with their own critical eyes and minds. Even I could be full of BS!!

My take is this MXY is a great investment stock for those looking at a long term nest egg...but it's not for those looking for something to spike tomorrow, as you rightly sated, Magma is not welcomed now, but I believe when the dust settles, that will change...not now...EJ still is spreading her angel dust and casting her followers under her spell.
