Just another thought to add to this.

The 'nuggets' would be mechanically seperated from the ore.

We all know that gold is very heavy so if you are able to crush and screen the ore to a consistent size, the chinks that contain gold will eventually make their way to the bottom.

I like the analogy of a bathtub filled with ping pong balls (ore). Throw a dozen golf balls (ore with gold) on top and then vibrate the tub for 5 minutes and almost certainly, the golf balls would make their way towards the bottom.

This way it would be easier to find the golf balls (nuggets) and make it more efficient to extract the gold.

The rest of the tailings would be processed accordingly.
