I agree with your timeframe for the Li boom, but I disagree with your end state. Over time more friendly power will be generated, although this will be a many decades long process. So it might start out in some respects not much greener than fossil fuels, it does have the long term potential to be in a way that fossil fuels could never achieve. 

He has peaked my interest as well. Earliest stages of research for me. Definately not related to LAC so that's the last I'll say.
