At least you are honest about your motivations :-).

I am not saying "do not buy EV", all I am saying is that a large scale use of EV will result in a massive electricity shortage. It is not visible now, because the penetration is relatively small. But do your own math, how many kWh you consume every year and multiply that with 20-40% penetration.

My conclusion is, that existing output will not cover that incremental rise of consumption and nobody is building extra capacity to cover up. I am staying with my Renault Espace :-)
