The BoD authorized the acquisition of Nanotronics Corporation, which held the patents, and was subsequently responsible for bringing together a unified licensing program.

While none of the current BoD were in place at the time of the acquisition, they were there for the formation of what is now Phoenix Digital Solutions.

My thanks do indeed go out to Elwood.

By the way, wasn't it sometime later before there was a realization that the patents might be worth something?
