I can only say that we already know that nothing is for sure when it comes to courts. We also know that they rule according to the law, and not necessarily what is fair or moral. And if the law needs interpeting, well..... you see where I'm heading. While it might seem dumb or outright stupid to us now, things tend to always appear differently when looking backwards from here as opposed to forwards from there.
