To take Eileen's comment a bit further, try to put yourself in the position of the POET management team holding the keys to a technology that will upset a monumentally entrenched status quo.

In Russia, possession of secrets, technology or power that can upset the status quo would likely result in your assassination. That's a sliver of perspective on how dangerous what POET has developed is.

We've seen companies rise up from nothing and change/redefine an industry, but I don't believe it is often done when the incumbents are still fully in control. (We know here that the cracks in the Silicon-base are spreading, but we are for now the few). Netflix was able to grow thanks to a confluence of many factors that limited the power of any one entity to squelch it.

POET has to tread carefully, and I'm sure that internally, they have given nearly as much thought to an appropriate sequence of gradual steps in lifting the veil on their technology as Dr. Taylor had in developing it. I won't be surprised if, when the full story is told, if GT also provided some of this thinking (on how to emerge from stealth mode most effectively), given the lessons he must have learned in his prior positions.

What we are witnessing here (or NOT witnessing) is a form of high art taking place.
