Bliss Carman: The clever passive-aggressive nature to many of the new poster's --- like 'My Poet' (Aves) --- frankly, stinks. Rainer, because you fail to smell/recognise this doesn't mean it is not real. It's very real and has really brought down the overall quality of this board lately.
The nice thing about the FAQ is that the intentions of those who are posting basic questions do not matter at all. We can refer them to the FAQ, and that's it. No need to discuss intentions and purposes, which in general we will not be able to clarify without a doubt anyway.
So the FAQ has the potential …
- to avoid a certain share of negativity,
- to encourage newbies to participate in the forum,
- to answer legitimate questions of newbies.
