Thanks masila.
This helps me get a perspective on the level of scientific activity happening in the epigenetic field. I find it quite exciting and I've been enthused about the potential as evidenced by my 10 year investment in RVX.
The point I was making about CRISPR vs epigenetics was not to compare the 2 sciences. I fully realize that CRSPR is a gene spicing method and epigenetics is about altering gene expression (software controling the hardware). My comment was completely misinterpreted. The point I was making was entirely related to PR and public profile. CRSPR gets public profile in mainstream media as a major breakthrough and a way to correct certain genetic defects. Epigenetics has gotten some low level profile on science shows such as Quirks and Quarks on CBC radio usually in the context of epigenetic traits being passed on to the next generation. And yet I am sure that epigenetics does have a high profile in certain areas of the scientific community.
Also, my point about FDA approval of apabetalone for BOM trials in the USA was misinterpreted. I thought this approval was a "big dea" and a major achievement for Don and his team. Hence I expected that the RVX PR team would get some major press out of this. They did not. My point was entirely about the investment profile of this little gem of a company from Calgary making great strides. I fully realize that Don will (probably) not go to the public markets to raise funds. Therefore the share price has little significance.
Anyway, I just wanted to clarify things since most of my comments were misinterpreted.
I'll try to censor myself from posting although it will be difficult but, at the end of the day, there really is no point in posting.
Thanks again masila and please keep your ideas flowing.
