It's used in the 774 patent claims 1 and 19 ...."sole"... I've always recognized it as soul, as in Devine... lol.

claim 1: As a stand alone claim term...regarding "receiving socket"

claim 19: As a considered condition of the "receiving socket"
a receiving socket electrically coupled to the memory control circuitry and configured for electrical coupling with a recording medium which is capable of retaining recorded digital information for storage;

The only thing that had to be understood, is there are two basic types of memory NAND or NOR...thought they address data differently and the make up of each are different....e.Digitals methodologies treat each in the same exact manner with no difference.
e.Digitals methods treat all memory the same no matter what faction of computing it was derived from. The memory type is really not important though there is dominance that should be considered if you want any enterprise out of it..
They patented the use of what eventually became a dominate type of memory, trapped electron, no matter what its physical properties were. ...with or without the need of RAM....all encompassing.

The 108 claims ruling covered all....with or without the need of RAM...be it too late and now / then up against Congressional bullsh** which then killed any substance in settlements.
We got the all encompassing, but too late.....and with new challenges.
Here we are, yet again, waiting on an all encompassing
ruling . This is more important, because it's not about a type of memory only and there are no constraints for the future of this consideration.
