After talking with Elmer on and off over the years my impression of him is he tells you what you want to hear.  The old adage "bet on the management and not on the property" has sadly been proven true in our case.  Management is everything.  Management makes a company succeed or fail.  Management makes a company move forward and gets things done in a timely fashion.  While Elmer may be a good geologist he is sadly lacking in one area that really counts - business acumen and leadership skills to make things happen.
