"Turley's bio says he has had a successful ipo and 3 acquisitions? what were they? anyone know? "

The company is (or was) HQ'd in England - called ARC International. JT was SVP of Technology Strategy. He mentioned this at the SHM in a response to an M&A experience question. ARC's IPO was just 7 years ago. It's unclear what JT's role might have been in the IPO - he rose to SVP and doesn't seem to have been a board member. ARC did acquire a few small companies, but JT was only around for a year after the IPO. There is an interesting quote which I have underlined for your convenience.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — ARC Cores Ltd. (London), developer of the ARC configurable and extensible 32-bit RISC processor architecture, has named Jim Turley vice president of marketing and head of its newly opened office in San Jose, Calif.
Turley was a senior analyst for embedded technologies at MicroDesign Resources Inc., publisher of the Microprocessor Report newsletter, and host of last week's Embedded Processor Forum, here. Ziff-Davis recently sold MicroDesign Resources to Cahners Business Information.
Speaking of his move from analyst back into industry, Turley said, "The trouble with analysis is that you are always window-shopping, but you can't touch. I couldn't invest and couldn't take up board positions.

He left them just over 2 years later. It is unclear what his involvement was in the IPO.

LONDON — ARC International's board of directors has fired Bob Terwilliger, the company's chief executive officer, during the continuing difficult times for the company, a licensor of configurable processor intellectual property.
The company announced the termination of Terwilliger's contract along with new guidance for stockbrokers. The company forecast its sales dropping to less than about $3 million in the third quarter as licensing deals that the company hoped to sign are deferred. The sales figure is down on the company's second-quarter revenue of about $5.1 million.
Terwilliger's departure follows by about a week that of Jim Turley, the firm's senior vice president of technology.
"Bob didn't resign. His contract was terminated by the board," said Simon Poulton, ARC's chief financial officer.
"Bob specialized in startup businesses. The board decided that, after a period of eleven months after the IPO [initial public offering], it was in the best interest of the company to appoint a new CEO. We are looking for a senior industry figure with plc experience."
Poulton said the company's licensing program for its configurable core had run into difficulties because contracts are taking much longer to sign.

Jim Turley, senior vice president of technology strategy for ARC Cores will be presenting and using the ARCtangent(TM) processor as an example, describing its configurable and extensible design in enough detail to permit developers to make a first-level decision about whether this technology is appropriate for future projects.
Jim Turley is an established presenter. Before joining ARC Cores, he was an editor at Microprocessor Report, a senior analyst for Cahners MicroDesign Resources, and host of the annual Embedded Microprocessor Forum. He has also worked as an engineer and consultant.
