Further to my earlier post, the point alluded to in that post is that Avot's approach makes good sense at a business operational level. Put another way, if one of a content provider's goals is to operate a profitable business (I believe a very reasonable, if not absolutely necessary assumption), a technology that leverages their existing assets toward additional revenue without the need to devote substantial resources to the "pre-conditioning" of those assets prior to being consumed by customers is a very attractive business proposition.

Again, my research into Avot appears to show that they are, at the very least, working with forward-looking standards such as H.264, which is the current driving HD compression standard for all things digital video, with far-reaching fingers into the IPTV, HDTV and mobile video worlds. The question I have is: Will Avot be able to leverage their technology in a "differentiated" way toward acquiring a piece of this burgeoning market?

I offer the above link to a primer on H.264 (and related MPEG4) and its current applications for everyone's reference. Though a bit technical in its language at times, it provides a fairly good overlook of the associated landscape.
