Andrea, as an extreme example, if there comes a time when a tender offer is made for the outstanding shares of POET, and management endorses the tender and recommends that all shareholders approve it, I can almost guarantee you that the "association" in whatever form it takes, will be opposed to management's recommendation.
The valuation of POET is so subjective at this point, and likely at any point until well seasoned earnings are established. Most here have no problem envisioning a tremendously successful future, propelled by what they feel is 99% proven disruptive technology in the most basic and ubiquitous of devices. Management may be more sanguine, they may appreciate a bird in the hand, they may appreciate the thicket that is the bush. I'm afraid many see not only a bird in the hand, but a flock of eagles at their beckon call. Hopefully, one day soon, it will be just that. But management and eager, involved shareholders rarely see eye to eye on valuation.
If large shareholders want to be heard, it's usually to oppose management, otherwise their voice is not so necessary. If we are to be like a large shareholder, well...
Thanks for all you input and ideas. You are a person of intelligence and of action!
