Harry,
Based on the history of the silocon chip I suspect that you are more right than wrong. Given that we are looking at something that is not the shrinking of an existing product, we may see the market place react in a whole new light.
Having worked in the IT field most of my life, I can assure you that IT budgets are being cuts everywhere. Imagine the benefit of a POET chip that can lower the power consumption ($$$) and A/C requirements ($$$) of computer rooms. The world is building server farms near power stations (Bauharnois, Quebec) and another one in Sweden that I recently read about. And I know that POET has many more advantages...
Not sure if you are right or wrong but I will bet you a steak at a nice chop shop that some IT folks are going to make alot of noise once we have a product.
