The infringers were competing for space in those markets and were not the least bit concerned with whose patents they they were infringing upon. It was something they felt they would deal with IF AND WHEN the time arose, as getting to market was first and foremost in their minds.

I am sure many would have liked to see EDIG evaporate and corporate espionage via the dissemination of FUD was likely one of their tactics to help that process along .(see IBM for details)

Too bad for them it didn't work.

Now we have oodles and oodles of infringers that we have lined up for reckoning day....and the first years results are VERY CLOSE AT HAND !!!
