'" in my mind some of their trade secrets will be revealed in their answers, or they have to go around their trade secrets to answer the questions and be vague about it."
The industry for the most part function on standards.....ie;.....FTL ( flash translation layer)....Msystems, now Sandisk driver for interfacing flash memory, or for NAND....NFTL are virtual management systems.
FTL or NFTL do not discretely manipulate data or execute files directly from a memory entity, however, it was and still is a staple methodology of the industry.
The questions e.Digital wants them to answer can benefit a defendant dismissing them from the case.
There really are no trade secrets at this level, there are a finite way of of addressing the issues of data management, virtual or logical.
e.Digital functions with a simple or in-depth logical management having novel methods of I/O to it....and there are no secrets about what they do.
If a defendant utilizes some form virtual management...they are off the hook...answer the questions and be gone.
If they utilize a logical method their problem is the I/O to it...no matter what the logical background format might be.
e.Digital sits on the key to logical management...
