"But I wonder if all this talk about the new developments in the flash memory technology renders our chip dated "
There is only one reason the word flash is associated with memory.....you flash( or erase) a grouping of bits(block), or reset for new programming. As I noted earlier, e.Digital dances around this issue....because of DATA STRUCTURE....it's an inherent property of this structure not to have to flash out trapped electrons....unless they specifically want to place something.
When it gets to the point of real new memory offerings, pram, fram.....whatever... that have the speed, and you can simply overwrite without having to flash out trapped electrons.....IT BENIFITS e.DIGITAL. Whatever time saving, power saving, due to direct over-right, or physical bit/cell properties.....e.Digital will always have a place, because not only will these memory producers improve the basic bit/cell structure, they will string them together in the simplest overall architecture....serial, and e.Digitals processes are directed at that type overall architecture.
